The kids were asleep in their cribs and I was strapped in with a baby on my back. Ha! All was starting to take shape, however it wasn't quite finished. To furnish the home it would be a huge effort with regards to time and money. It was also going to be a challenge to do my favourite shopping. In order to keep my budget intact, I went with my 3 boys looking for bargains in estate sales. Our routine was to walk around garage sales and auctions on Saturday and Sunday as well as purchase various of old pieces and new made. My work days were spent in the driveway working on painting or sanding. The look was a little like the following... Here's where my love for the restoration of antique furniture began. I kept on restoring furniture even after we had completed the renovation of our home. There was a place on the market in town in which I sold my pieces. In the end, I had lots of pieces, I didn't have a clue what to do with them and my storage space was a mess. In my own home, I began hosting open houses, where over 1000 guests could visit to purchase anything they liked on the 1st floor within a single weekend. Growing Days is the result of this. Growing Days was more than an incredibly successful business, but also my sweet family. Being a new mom I was able to strike the right equilibrium to start my own company and be a good mother. Growing Days was the obvious choice. Nora joined us in 2013 as our 4th baby. While I was pleased with the direction that my business went, I was feeling like I had to take some time off. I decided to take some time off from my vintage furniture and stay at home with the kids. That was exactly what I was looking for at the moment. After a couple of months, my phone started to start to. A lot of people contacted me to ask for advice regarding home improvements and decor. These were mostly customers who visited my home to purchase furniture. Then I slowly took on new clients in my own way. In the end, I had many clients, and had an enterprise of renovations to homes. It would have probably laughed at me had I had told you that this was going to be the subject of an DIY Network tv series. When I look back, it still makes me smile.
